KeyPads

Edit KeyPads

As a power user - you can create your own keypad for your own needs.
With dedicated keypads you can boost your productivity in any app on your Mac/Windows PC computer.
  • Create / Edit existing keypad
  • Adding new keys and defining what they do
  • Changing default background for keys
  • Adding rows and columns of keys to the layout
  • Making bigger buttons
  • Changing buttons look
  • Not just keyboard shortcuts

Create / Edit

Tap more button "⋮" in the upper right corner to invoke more menu, and select "Create KeyPad" to create new keypad, or "Edit" to rearrange or edit existing keypads.

You also can use "Store" to get pre-made keypads, "Font" to control text font size, and you are welcome to share the keypads you make with your friends and co-workers. Finally "Help" leads to this page 🙃

Adding keys

Adding keys is easy, just tap one of the + buttons on the screen, where you want new button to be added, to show key combination composer. Depending on the operating system of your computer, Mac or PC  keyboard will be shown (example shows Mac keyboard).
Every key in the keypad can be assigned single or multiple keyboard keys, or combinations. Just choose the keyboard keys you want it to be assigned. You can combine regular keys with modifiers (like Control or Shift, Alt or Option, Win and Command). If you assign more than one keyboard key, separators will be automatically added between keys that need them. Tapping separator will allow you to define the delay between the keys in milliseconds (default delay is zero). This is useful if you need to perform multiple actions like copy and then paste. Having small delay will insure everything goes according to plan 😀
Finally if you need to delete one of the keyboard keys, just tap on it in the list above the keyboard to remove it, and it will also remove the separator associated with it if needed.

Button background color

Using color selector (left button in the toolbar) you can set default button's background color for the keypad. And you can use "Undo" and "Redo" buttons to revert changes you make.

Keypad title & icon

Tapping edit button in the toolbar (pen) will allow you to edit keypad title and set the icon for it.

Editing layout

Switching to editing mode (Edit button in the top right corner) allows you to change keypad layout by adding or removing rows and columns of keys. You can do that using + and trash buttons in the toolbar.
You can make buttons bigger, by selecting existing button and spaces next to it, and tapping merge button (center button in the toolbar), if you select merged button - you can split it into smaller ones using same button.
Finally if you select existing key, you will be able to copy it, and paste over empty or existing keys. This can be helpful when you want to move a button from one place to another.

Editing buttons

By selecting a button, you can test button action using play button in the toolbar. In addition to that you can edit buttons title, icon, and change its background color. To change buttons action you will need to exit edit mode, and tap button again to re-assign keyboard keys to it.

Need more than just keyboard shortcuts?

In case you need more than just keyboard shortcuts, and want to create keypads that will allow you to launch apps or open websites, execute custom actions written in Apple Script or Power Shell on Windows, shutdown or restart your computer, send long string of text, and create buttons from app menu (available only on Mac) - you might want to give "Remote, Mouse & Keyboard" a look.
