Who?

The app is created by Evgeny Cherpak, from Netanya Israel, just north of Tel Aviv. After school I spent 11 years in the Israeli Air Force fixing F-16 planes (firstly various electrical systems, and later flight control system). After army I worked for couple of American startups (Cloud Engines - Pogoplug, Pawscout & Medea Vodka). At age 35 I had enough of working on somebody else's dreams and became indie. Since them I'm working on multiple iOS/Mac apps mainly focusing on Remote Control for Mac.

Why?

On my first trip to US, I bought iPhone 4 and got hooked and it was amazing. Slowly I replaced all my computer ware with Apple stuff, and Mac mini became my main media hub. I connected it to my sound bar, and hosted my iTunes Library on it. One cold winter morning I wanted to listen to some tunes, and launched Apple Remote app but it couldn't find my library cause iTunes wasn't running... so I had to get out of bed and launch iTunes on my Mac. But that wasn't it - the master volume was so low, even when it started playing I couldn't hear anything. So I had to get out of my bed again just to adjust the volume. So I decided to make a simple app that will launch iTunes, and control master volume.

What?

Slowly the app grown and I added multiple features, now in addition to the basic functionality of controlling playback and volume, it can control popular media apps and streaming services. Can be used as trackpad and keyboard. Launch and quit apps, and use apps menu bar commands. Perform system actions like sleep, restart and shutdown. And much more. Most of the functionality is also available via Siri Shortcuts which enables to integrate Mac into smart home environment. I have replaced my Mac mini with Apple TV in my living room but the app continues to be useful even today... I use the app to tell my Mac to AirPlay Mirror its display to my TV either in living room or bedroom and use the app to control it. I hear stories from the users and read reviews, people find interesting ways of using the app in their lives cause it's so flexible and provides so much control.
